Dr. Serra will first take an impression of your teeth and send the mold to Invisalign, which manufactures the custom aligner trays. Each tray moves your teeth incrementally and is worn for approximately two weeks, after which your dentist checks your teeth's progress and provides you with the next tray in the series.
The advantages of wearing clear braces are that most people won't notice that you are straightening your teeth, and the braces won't disrupt your lifestyle. You wear them continuously, removing them only to eat, brush, and floss. The Invisalign treatment usually takes approximately six months to one year to complete.
Clear braces are more comfortable and take less time than traditional braces because they not only control the incremental forces on your teeth, but also the timing of the movement of each particular tooth at any given stage. This makes the straightening movement much more efficient.
